I'm a big sports fan, i enjoy watching most sports, among my favourties are:

Soccer/Football
Rugby Union(thats what we've just won the world cup in)
Rugby League
Cricket
Basketball
American Football
Baseball
F1
Tennis
Golf

Those are just the ones I watch regularly, i'll sit and watch most sports when it comes to the major tournaments. The first thing i do when i get home from uni or work is put the sports news channel on.

As for it being English football, theres no definitive answer on where the sport originated, the was supposedly a game being played in Japan centuries ago that was an early form of football. The rules for the modern game originated in England, as did the first league competitions and professional clubs. Thats why the game gets credited to the English.

Finally though we have again won the world cup in a sport that we are credited with creating, we always seem to be so close yet so far from winning the major tournaments in most sports.
